VIETNAM - BHUTAN RELATIONS
Bhutan is only country in South Asia that has not yet established diplomatic relations with Viet Nam. However, the two countries have been coordinating in multilateral forums and international organisations such as the UN and the Colombo Plan.
At the sidelines of the Asia Cooperation and Dialogue Meeting held in Pakistan in April 2005, the Foreign Minister of Bhutan extended his invitation to Foreign Minister Nguyen Dy Nien to pay an official visit to Bhutan and sign a Joint Declaration of Diplomatic Relation Establishment between the two countries. The two countries are discussing the convenient timing for such a visit.
