Fatherland Front to focus on national solidarity
The VFF will find new ways to implement policies concerning ethnic minorities, religious affiliation, overseas Vietnamese, poor people and those who contributed great services to the nation, said Huynh Dam, Vice President and General Secretary of the VFF Central Committee (6th term), at its 4th conference opening in Ho Chi Minh City on Jan. 29.
The VFF will also step up patriotic emulation movements and build up rich and diversified cultural activities at local level, in addition to raising funds for the poor, he said.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung hailed the VFF as a mainstay of and a bridge between the Party, administration and people.
The Deputy PM called on the entire political system, including the Party, administration, Fatherland Front and mass organisations, to reform their structures in order to fulfill the tasks of national construction and development.
The conference will last through Jan. 31.(VNA)
