Deputy PM Khiem holds talks with Serbian FM
Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem held talks with visiting Foreign Minister of the Republic of Serbia Vuk Jeremic in Ha Noi on March 24.
The two sides discussed measures and directions to boost multi-faceted and special cooperation in trade and investment.
They agreed to sign commerce and investment agreements to create a legal framework for increasing the exchange of goods and boosting investment between the two countries.
The two sides also agreed to expand regular political exchange and strengthen coordination in regional and international issues for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
Regarding the Kosovo issue, Deputy PM Khiem affirmed our standpoint that Vietnam wishes concerned parties would resolve their differences through dialogue and negotiation on the basis of abiding by the UN Security Council’s Resolution No. 1244.
The resolution aims to find a comprehensive solution to the Kosovo issue, ensuring the legitimate interests of concerned nations for peace and sustainability in Europe and the world.
Minister Jeremic said Serbia wants to strengthen and consolidate the traditional friendship and long-term, multi-faceted cooperation with Vietnam .
He spoke highly of Vietnam’s principal and responsible standpoint towards the Kosovo issue.
He also affirmed that the Republic of Serbia will continue its policy to solve problems through peaceful solutions and negotiations in order to reach the country’s objectives, contributing to the peace and stability in the region.
