Serbian minister pledges help to Vietnam


Hanoi (VNA) - Foreign Minister of the Republic of Serbia Vuk Jeremic has said that his country is willing to bridge Vietnam and Southeast European countries and boost trade ties between the two sides.

The visiting minister made the statement during a meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung in Hanoi on March 25.

He also said the Serbian Government wants to further strengthen ties in various areas with Vietnam, with a view to efficiently tapping cooperative potentials between the two nations.

PM Dung spoke highly of the results of the talks between Minister Jeremic and Deputy Prime Minister-cum-Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem, which took place in Hanoi on March 24, focusing on the two sides’ agreement on solutions to push up trade and investment.

The PM agreed upon the two sides’ decision to conduct regular political exchange and strengthen coordination in regional and international issues for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

He stressed that Vietnam always attaches importance to promoting traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with Serbia.

Regarding the Kosovo issue, PM affirmed our standpoint that Vietnam wishes concerned parties would resolve their differences through dialogue and negotiation on the basis of abiding by the UN Security Council’s Resolution No. 1244.
