Vietnam-Laos relations honoured
VNA 17/08/2010 - The Vietnam-Laos traditional, comprehensive and special friendship will be unceasingly developed on the firm foundation laid by Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Kaysone Phomvihane, and fostered by generations of leaders and people of both countries.
The statement was made by President Nguyen Minh Triet and Thoongvin Phovihane, widow of the late Party General Secretary and President of Laos Kaysone Phomvihane, during their meeting in Hanoi on August 17.
They were pleased with significant progress in bilateral economic cooperation and trade in recent years.
Working visits by leaders of the two parties, states, ministries and localities of both countries and an increasing presence of Vietnamese investors in Laos showed the determination of the two parties and states in mutual cooperation and assistance, and overcoming all difficulties for economic development, national construction and improvement of the people’s living conditions, they said./.
